Who we support &
Supporting local charities & those in need
Most months, at St Luke's we hold a Mothers' Union HUB (it's on the second Saturday of the month, combined with our Community Breakfast). Through the HUB we support the work of Michael House, the Foodbank, Hope for Food, the Soup Run as well as other local charities that support the homeless, rough sleepers, vulnerable and those in need. We collect food, clothes, toiletries and seasonal items that are then distributed to each charity.
For more details contact either Karen Gillis (click HERE to get in touch with Karen) or John (click HERE to get in touch with John).
As a parish we support a number of charities and organisations, listed below. This is not exhaustive but are some of our main areas of support and links to their website (where they have one):
There are two Scout groups linked to the parish: 30th Bournemouth (St John's) and 24th Bournemouth (St Luke's). Both are very active within the community and get involved in church activities. We don't have 'parade' Sundays as such but both groups join us for key services like Mothering Sunday and Remembrance.
If you'd like more details, please get in touch with the group leaders directly:
30th: email@example.com - Nina Laing (Beaver leader & Assistant Cub leader).
24th: firstname.lastname@example.org - Louise Bradley (Group Scout Leader)
